Video - TV

Most of the work I've done around video over the past few years involves more creative direction than actual production and editing. I've worked with media companies like KLRN and KSAT in San Antonio and KHOU in Houston. I helped guide the style of commercials and promotional pieces involving the We Go Public campaign. The content promoted academic and extracurricular programs in San Antonio-area's ISDs as well as Houston area.

Many of the videos ran on both TV and social media. We also housed them on our website.

This is a commercial I wrote and provided creative direction to air on the public television station, KLRN in San Antonio. The topic focuses around PreK and kindergarten registration. Because my husband is an audio engineer, I have access to a home studio. So I also did the voiceover:

Childrens Video

One of my true passions is creating childrens stories and producing videos that could eventually evolve into a series. I've bootstrapped concept videos and trailers to demonstrate the characters, story, and appeal.

The three big projects I've worked on over the years all qualify as labors of love. However, Ballot the Dog is the one that actually has gained traction. The concept is a purple dog who shows kids how to vote in Texas. I created the character and story, contracted the illustrator and animator, and launched it for the 2020 general election. The video on YouTube has had 35K views so far. I also ran a coloring contest in elemementary schools in both 2020 and 2024 elections. In total, over 800 entries were submitted. The vision is to find a production and distribution partner to take this into a series and build further elements.

The channel, Ballot the Dog features eight short videos with Ballot and his friends. Below is the video with Ballot voting in Texas:

The other project has been a concept for the past 20 years and due to technology, continues to evolve. The storyline takes place inside the web. Currently, I have a trailer and a partial script treatment completed. My goal is to pitch and secure an agent with the hope of finding a production partner. The working title is called "The Nahmus", but this trailer below uses their other name, "Furlypetz":

Documentary

Currently, I'm a student in the Graduate Program in Mass Communications at Texas State University. In the fall of 2024, I produced a documentary short called, Living Proof for the course, Digital Media Production. The focus is on the importance of social interaction as people age. For my master's project, I'll expand on this topic and produce a long form documentary.
